Notes: Major Andre was a member of the 609th Special Operations Squadron, Nakhon Phanom Airfield, Thailand. On July 8, 1969, he was the navigator of a Douglas Counter Invader Attack Aircraft (A-26A) on a hunter killer mission over the plain of Jars region of Xiangkhoang Province, Laos. When about 12 miles south of Ban Na Mai, his aircraft was shot down. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. Update April 2013: Remains were recovered at the crash site in Laos and have been positively identified. Burial with full Military Honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 1100 hours. Rest in Peace Major Andre.

Major Howard Andre along with his pilot and best friend Major James Sizemore were intered with full honors at Arlington National Cemetery on Sept 23, 2013. They were buried side by side as they grew up,flew, fought and died.
