Marine Corps Captain's Vietnam War Letter April 28, 1968

This letter/card was written by  a Marine Corps Captain, who was in Vietnam, April 28, 1968. From the letter…..

Rested all afternoon so don’t feel much like sleeping tonight. Saw the new pay raise that is supposed to go into effect on 1 July. I get a $40.00 per month raise up to $596.00. In January when I go over 4 years it would jump to $658.00. That’s only base pay. Not too bad but nowhere near enough to keep me in past 15 October 1969. Everything seems to be quiet on the front. Another month nearly gone. I should get orders for my next duty assignment in July. I asked for Camp Lejeune. Hope all is well at home.

Love to all,
