Notes: Major Bare was a member of the 16th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron. On July 27, 1967, he was the weapons system officer of a McDonnell Phantom II Reconnaissance Fighter (RF-4C) flying 5 miles southwest of Dong Hoi, Quang Binh Province, North Vietnam when his aircraft crashed.
